FLAG DESIGN/FABRIC DYING WORKSHOP
Children's workshop introducing basic resist dying techniques. Celebrate Cupar's heritage and the
Cupar Arts Festival by designing and making unique flags. Jean Duncan is a lecturer at Elmwood
College and
a selected artist in the Cupar Arts Festival curated visual arts programme. Wear old

CHILDREN'S STORYTELLING & WORKSHOP
Owen Pilgrim will be bringing a bag of stories and riddles for children. Stories inspired by the wood and
the trees and the creatures that lurk where the natural and supernatural meet. Also in the session will
be a story game to awaken the storyteller in everyone.

HOT-AIR BALLOON MODELLING WORKSHOP (PART 1)
Fun, hands-on kids workshop making hot-air balloons. In part one children will model their own
hot-air balloons in papier-mache, and draft their designs for both balloon and basket. Wear old

PERFORMANCE TO CAMERA WORKSHOP
Video artists Andrew Maclean and Gayle Meikle will conduct a day-long workshop exploring the world of
the alias. They will delve into the history of the nom de plum inviting the participants to create their own
characters by choosing props from the dress-up box. Their peers will then invent an identity for their
alter-ego which will be acted out in the style of performance to camera.
This is a highly imaginative method of encouraging children to think about identity whilst engaging them
within storytelling and the technology used to create video art.

HOT-AIR BALLOON MODELLING WORKSHOP (PART 2)
Second part of
a children's workshop making hot-air balloons. Decorate and paint your hot-air

Come along and join in the fun. Songs of old and songs of new, something to suit all abilities and ages,
fun songs, silly songs, traditional and contemporary, something for everyone to enjoy, share and learn.
Some ukulele accompaniment and percussion instruments. No-one will be asked to sing by themselves,
but everyone will be encouraged to join in.

THE CALL OF THE LOON BIRD
Based on Native American stories, ‘The Call of the Loon Bird' follows the life of one man. In his youth he
rescues a ‘Loon’, a bird of great wisdom, who later helps him on his own journey through life.
