CLARA ANDERSON
NATURE TRAIL

My work for Cupar Arts Festival is a progression of that made for my degree show in 2009 which was presented in a very formal environment. As an interim stage I will be presenting my degree show work – along side some new work – in an outdoor location at the Pittenweem Festival (I won their Graduate Bursary award), which will allow me to re-think my current body of work and enhance it in response to the environment. The work for Cupar Art Festival will be a further progression of this.

I am very interested in improving the experiences of those living in my local community and to increase their awareness of where they live and the value they place in it. In particular I hope to place the works on the Nature Trail in locations that are frequented by socialising teenagers, but I envisage that they will appeal to all demographics.

Hunt out the hidden art works along the Nature Trail, add to them and move them around. The open and accessible nature of this art trail is designed to encourage participation by those who use it for recreation but would not necessarily engage with art in a formal environment. The works will be small, simple and aesthetically attractive to draw people in without intimidation. It is intended that these works will be left in-situ forever (where possible) to deteriorate and change naturally with the environment.

Multiples will be available for sale in The Shop.
