Like many other towns across the UK, the main streets in Cupar feature a large selection of bright branded charity shops. Working with these shops to create a work which explores some notions of value, ownership
and the concept of the gift, this project involves the creation of a limited edition of music CDs which will be offered for sale in the shops themselves.
These CDs will contain individual tracks selected from music bought in the charity shops of Cupar, selected on the basis of their relevance to the theme of the project, together with soundbites which reflect on the theme of the project.
The final CD is created in a limited edition, one for each of the shops and is offered for sale without a price, the value being determined by the purchaser. Any purchase can be made in exchange for cash, goods or services.
