The next Cupar Arts Festival will take place in 2011.
Following the success of the 2008 and 2009 Cupar Arts Festivals, it was a dificult decision for our committee to make, when we finally came to the conclusion that we needed to take a year out for research and development. We realised however, that this would be necessary in order to continue to build our organisation and the associated festival into sustainable models which will not fade out after a few years.
Cupar Arts Festival has proved to be a unique event over the past two years, in large part due to its innovative programme of contemporary visual art which uses the town as a framework, and draws attention to the unique character of Cupar through visual arts installations, interventions, and exhibitions at a large number of unusual sites and venues. Our breadth of programming is something which has also been a great success with the local community and visitors alike. Both years, we have put together a packed programme of music, performance poetry, and children's events and workshops offering something for everyone. In tandem with our core programme, we work with many local organisations, who also present events during the Festival.
Our Festival Archive (below) is new and is currently being updated.
Artists should note that, as part of our development, we plan to finalise the 2011 programme much earlier than previously. Proposal Forms will be available shortly.
